The Story of Cahoots Underground
From Air-Raid Shelter to Cocktail Hub
In 1946, a band of daring scoundrels stumbled upon a hidden gem beneath Soho’s bustling streets: the forgotten Kingly Court Underground Station. Originally an abandoned air raid shelter, the station had been transformed into a covert refuge, a place where spirits flowed freely and morale was kept high. Adorned with quirky bric-a-brac – dusty lampshades, mismatched crockery, old toys, and piles of tinned food – all remnants of an attempt to create a ‘home away from home.’ This subterranean spot became the perfect backdrop for their nocturnal escapades – defying rationing rules, serving top-notch bootleg cocktails, and hosting sensational swinging parties with live music that kept the night alive.
Platform Carriages, Vintage Décor & Live Swing

Signature Drinks & Immersive Night Out
At the heart of Cahoots Underground sits a drinks menu born of wartime ingenuity and post-war indulgence, where spirits are poured with mischief and presentation is very much part of the performance. Each cocktail is crafted with care and a knowing wink, served by talented Scoundrels who understand that a good drink should entertain as much as it satisfies. Inspired by the realities of 1940s rationing, these tipples celebrate the art of making do – bold flavours fashioned from limited supplies, clever substitutions and quietly acquired ingredients, much like the black market’s secret offerings.
Vintage Vessels, Themed Drinks & Sharing Cocktails
Cocktails arrive in tin cans, hip flasks and vintage cups, with certain notable figures even making a grand appearance on the platform. The likes of Winston Churchill and Queen Elizabeth II preside in unmistakable form, with drinks served in vessels shaped in their honour. Alongside these iconic cocktail heads sit robust house signatures, wines, Champagnes and generous sharing cocktails designed for groups keen to sample the spoils together. Earthy, seasonal notes nod to post-war British farms and countryside gardens, while bolder pours draw inspiration from the era’s wider cultural pulse. Together, they form a menu where creativity, craftsmanship and good spirits were never rationed underground.
